Not something I know a lot about, but the "recent" structures don't look much different from the "homeless" structures around town here (Austin). Interesting that they are "slums" there and "homeless" camps here. The upgraded versions put me in mind of the homeless "camp" that was built in Toronto by the city on abandoned land using manufactured temporary structures.
